Whole-life prison terms move hailed
Daily Express
|December 17, 2025
THE parents of a murdered former prison officer have hailed the expansion of whole-life orders so that more killers die behind bars.
Justice Secretary David Lammy yesterday said the scope for the sentences, which state a prisoner can never be released from jail, will be widened to include offenders convicted of killing former police, prison or probation officers.
Father-of-three Lenny Scott, 33, who was no longer with the Prison Service, was shot last February in Skelmersdale, Lancs, by convicted drugs offender Elias Morgan, 35.
