It's victory or bust in 2026 insists Harry
THOMAS TUCHEL will be a failure unless he wins the World Cup next summer.
That is the view of Harry Redknapp, who believes the England head coach should not be judged on the games against “two useless teams” in qualifiers over the next week.
“I shall be watching Coronation Street when that's on,” said the former West Ham and Tottenham manager.
Tuchel, the third foreign coach of the England men's senior side, has been handed the short-term mission of winning in the United States next summer after signing only an 18-month contract.
Gareth Southgate reached the 2018 World Cup semi-finals and the final of the European Championship in 2021 and 2024.
Redknapp, 78, said: “He’s got to win something, basically, to be a success. Gareth took us so far.
