Eddie won't stop tinkering as he attempts to help Woltemade settle in properly
EDDIE HOWE has defended his squad rotation policy ahead of Newcastle's return to Premier League action.
The Toon boss came under fire from some fans for resting £69million new boy Nick Woltemade against Barcelona in the Champions League on Thursday night.
But he insists he could not take any risks with fellow summer signing Yoane Wissa injured and the Germany international his only recognised striker.
The Magpies must shake off the disappointment of losing to a Marcus Rashford-inspired Barca to take on Bournemouth on the South Coast today.
Woltemade marked his debut with the winning goal against Wolves last weekend and Howe may now start him against the Cherries.
They lacked a focal point for long periods of their opening European game with a front three made up of wingers Anthony Elanga, Anthony Gordon and Harvey Barnes.
