Coroner rules 'misadventure'

TV drag queen The Vivienne did not intend to take their own life but died from misadventure after taking ketamine and suffering a cardio-respiratory arrest, a coroner has ruled.

James Lee Williams, 32, had struggled with drug use in the past, including with ketamine, cocaine and alcohol, but stopped for several years.

However, they were an occasional user and their inquest heard five drug snap bags were found at their home including in a bedroom drawer and a bathroom bin.

The last time anyone had contact with Williams was on the evening of Friday, January 3, when friend Bobby Musker told Warrington Coroner's Court it was evident the entertainer had taken ketamine.

Williams was found in the bath by a neighbour two days later.

Friends and family had no worries about the performer's mental health, the hearing was told, and Williams was looking forward to future roles on TV and in the theatre.
