Fallen TV host has carved out a new life but pool tragedy Stuart's family are still hoping for answers

- BY MARC BAKER and SUE LEE

The reinvention of BARRYMORE

Stuart's dad Terry, who died in 2021

HE was one of the biggest TV stars of the 80s and 90s, lending his golden touch to game shows, light entertainment and his own variety show.

But Michael Barrymore's career was brought to an abrupt halt when a man was found dead in his swimming pool.

The mystery of what happened to Stuart Lubbock, who had attended a party at Barrymore's mansion, was never solved.

His family hope the 73-year-old can provide fresh information in his new memoir.

But for Barrymore, who has always maintained his innocence, the book is an attempt to consolidate his new life as a social media star.

Whippet

He boasts four million followers on TikTok and has been given a YouTube award for gaining more than 100,000 followers for his popular vlogs documenting travels and adventures with whippet Lara.

His new memoir, which he has been writing on the Cornish coast, will tell how Barrymore has found comfort in entertaining a new generation of fans.

It was via his YouTube channel that he revealed he is looking to leave the UK after exchanging contracts on a new house, thought to be in Spain.
