Teenage friends drowned in car crash tragedy

Fiesta overturned in water, inquest hears

FOUR teenage friends who were killed when their car left the road in North Wales probably drowned, a coroner said yesterday.

Inquests into the deaths of Jevon Hirst, 16, Harvey Owen, 17, Wilf Fitchett, 17, and Hugo Morris, 18, were opened and adjourned during a four-minute hearing. Their families, from Shropshire, did not attend.

Kate Robertson, coroner for North West Wales, gave drowning as a provisional cause of death for the students.

The boys had been reported missing on a camping trip to Snowdonia.

After a major search, their silver Ford Fiesta was found two days later on November 21, overturned in water.

Ms Robertson said the Shrewsbury college A-level students were identified by relatives.
