Starmer's woke Bill will cell us all short
Daily Express
|October 21, 2025
OUR joke, woke, two-tiered justice system is about to get a whole lot worse as Keir and his bunch of halfwits bring forward their Sentencing Bill today.
-
This bill should be renamed, the Anti-sentencing Bill, for its aim is to reduce the length of prison terms and send fewer people to prison.
And all because this misguided Labour Government believe that it's better to have criminals out in the community than in prison.
Their assertion is that short jail sentences don’t work. Of course, for many they don’t - that’s because they should be getting much longer ones. Virtually all of these repeat offenders have already done community services and already worn tags. These haven’t worked. They need to be sent to prison, not be met with even more lenient sentences. These offenders are literally laughing all the way to their next crime.
