More GDP woe for Reeves
RACHEL Reeves faced a new blow yesterday after figures confirmed the economy was slowing down.
Gross domestic product grew by just 0.3% between April and June, a sharp fall from 0.7% in the first three months of the year.
The latest data is a major setback for the Chancellor who has made bolstering economic growth central to her agenda. It drew withering criticism from opponents. Liberal Democrat Treasury spokeswoman Daisy Cooper said: "Snails would scoff at the pace our economy is growing."
