Tuipulotu out to prove a point in home town

SIONE READY TO PUT BOOT IN

SIONE TUIPULOTU has no axe to grind over his Australia snub but is aiming to show them what they are missing again this weekend.

The Scotland centre, a try-scorer in the Lions' win in Brisbane on Saturday, was raised in Melbourne and played for the Rebels from 2016 to 2019 before joining Glasgow four years ago.

Tuipulotu, eligible for Scotland through grandmother Jaqueline, never cracked it Down Under. He has been a roaring success in Britain, though, and is out to nail a series victory in his home town.

The 28-year-old was disillusioned after not getting a chance with Australia but has buried that now claiming Scotland have turned him into the player he is. Tuipulotu said: "It's kind of crazy that we can close out the series in my home town where I grew up. The stars have aligned for me.

"If you'd asked me when I first moved from Melbourne I would say, 'Yeah, it is personal'.
