Sharp rise in nicotine pouch use in 5 years

HALF a million Britons now use nicotine pouches, with their popularity soaring in the past five years.
The surge is mainly being driven by young adults aged 16 to 24, with experts putting this down to heavy marketing targeted at that age group.
Nicotine pouches are placed between the lip and gum to slowly release the stimulant and they come in a wide variety of flavours.
Caroline Cerny, of charity Action on Smoking and Health (Ash), said: "The growing use of nicotine pouches is driven by the heavy and indiscriminate marketing of these products.
