Seven-year-old scores more Goodwood glory

RHOSCOLYN continued his love affair with Goodwood by coming with a thunderous late run to bag the Coral Golden Mile.

Down the field in a handicap on Wednesday, torrential rain over the next 24 hours softened the surface to the seven-year-old’s liking.

With David O’Meara-trained stablemate Mirsky ruled out at the last minute, jockey Danny Tudhope hopped aboard the well-supported 11-2 chance.

And to the delight of those who snapped up odds of 33-1 earlier in the week, horse and jockey found room to overtake Real Gain inside the final furlong, a rival passed by Ebt’s Guard who ran for the silver medal.
