Regions' armed cops refuse to fill in after Met officers walk out

ARMED police working outside London refused pleas to fill in when Met firearms officers put down their guns.
One source said regional cops had "a lot of sympathy" with colleagues in the capital.
More than 100 serving in the Metropolitan Police refused to carry weapons after one was charged with murder last Thursday.
Soldiers and armed police from regional forces were called in as the crisis threatened to spread across the country.

But the Daily Express understands some of the biggest forces, including Greater Manchester, Merseyside and West Midlands, did not send officers to London.
A West Midlands source said "most, if not all" armed officers had refused to travel to the capital.
