Reeves given mixed signals after jump in services sector

RACHEL Reeves yesterday received mixed signals about the state of the economy ahead of her spring statement as S&P Global's purchasing managers' index pointed to an upturn in services while manufacturing declined again.
The Chancellor's statement will be delivered tomorrow as global trade war tensions escalate and worries over new tax hikes deepen.
The latest S&P UK PMI survey signalled that manufacturers were already suffering from Donald Trump's tariff threats on steel and aluminium as weak demand has taken its toll on declining export sales.
