If Ten Hag believes this match contained a shred of injustice, then they were the rantings of a deluded manager.

This was Ten Hag's 100th game in charge of United and, despite this latest humiliation, the Dutchman's win percentage over that period is higher than the one Sir Alex Ferguson recorded when his game-count reached treble figures.

But it is safe to say Ten Hag will not go on to manage another 1,400 United games, as Ferguson did.

Let's be honest, the chances of Ten Hag being at the helm for another 100 games are probably slim and none, judging by this latest evidence of the chasm in class between these two teams.
