Public loses faith in the Met Police

PUBLIC confidence in the Met Police has plummeted to a record low after the force failed to solve thousands of crimes.

Officers and detectives at Scotland Yard only solved one in 20 reported robberies and burglaries, a scathing report has revealed.

And just one in 76 reported bicycle thefts and one in 179 theft person offences were cracked, it was said.

Now, think-tank Policy Exchange has said only 45% of Londoners believe the force is doing a good job in their local area down from 69% 10 years ago.
