Pet owners take the lead as insurance costs drop

THERE’S good news for Britain's pet lovers, as their pet insurance premiums have bucked the inflation trend by actually falling over the last 12 months.

Average monthly premiums for dogs have fallen 12% year-on-year to £11.68, which works out at just over £140 a year.

Cat owners are paying 3% less at £9.08 a month, or £109 annually, new research from Go.Compare Pet Insurance shows.
