Kovacic sees long City rule

MANCHESTER CITY new boy Mateo Kovacic believes he has joined a club capable of sustained European domination.

Kovacic already has four Champions League winner's medals, and he reckons he might be on for a few more after signing for City in a £30million deal from Chelsea.

Pep Guardiola's team became European champions for the first time last season, after a series of nearmisses that included a defeat at the hands of their new midfielder and his former club.

And the 29-year-old Croatian believes that City's victory over Inter Milan in Istanbul can provide the foundations for Guardiola to build a real dynasty.

Kovacic said: "City is now a club that have won the Champions League - and it's a great success.

"By winning the trophy you get even more confidence and I think they can dominate.

"For me it's just the start. If it was the end why would I have come? "The team is so young, so confident and so great at playing football, so why would it be the end?
