Peers should be giving everyone last rights

IT’S been four years since the Express launched the Give Us Our Last Rights campaign, calling for people facing the end of their lives to have a choice about how they die.

Debate has taken place in the pages of this newspaper and others, on the airwaves and in Parliament.

Supporters of change, championed by Dame Esther Rantzen, called for reforms to ensure fewer people are forced to endure painful and undignified deaths or make lonely journeys to Dignitas.
