BRITISH-born Israeli soldier Nathanel Young was among those killed by Hamas militants, it was confirmed yesterday, as fears grew for two other UK nationals - Jake Marlowe and Dan Darlington.
-
Corporal Young, 20, a former pupil at the Jewish Free School, a comprehensive in North London, was serving in the 13th Battalion of the Israel Defence Forces and died on the Gaza border.
He is the first confirmed British victim of the worst violence in the region for decades after Palestinian militants launched Saturday's cross-border dawn raids.
Mr Marlowe, who attended the same has not school, been seen or heard from since terrorists the attacked at a dance festival held near Kibbutz Ra'im close to the Gaza Strip in southern Israel, where some 260 bodies have been found.
The Israeli embassy in London stated the 26-year-old was missing and a spokesman added: "We don't know if he is taken hostage or dead or in a hospital."
Mr Marlowe moved to Israel in 2021 and worked as a carpenter in the northern city of Ma'alot.
He was earning extra money as a security guard at the festival ambushed by the terrorists.
Parents Lisa and Michael, from Potters Bar, Herts, launched a desperate appeal for information.
Mrs Marlowe said: "He called me at 4.30am to say all these rockets were flying over. Then, at about 5.30am, he texted to say 'signal very bad, everything OK, will keep you updated, I promise you'."
