Officials playing fast and loose on Strip

LEADING up to this weekend's race, organisers in Las Vegas were trying to paint a picture of a maturing and established event.
-
That message was undermined somewhat when a loose manhole cover derailed practice.
It brought back memories of F1's first race on the Strip two years ago, when Carlos Sainz's Ferrari sucked up a manhole cover (above) which destroyed the car.
Thankfully there was no such disaster this time, beyond valuable lost practice time.
