Nun buns are a choux-in
Daily Express
|June 10, 2025
TELL me if you think I'm overreacting, but surely nuns deserve a lot more respect.
-
Not from God himself, obviously - He's eternally grateful for all they do - but from ordinary mortals in the here and now.
I can't really think of any other religious figures who so frequently find themselves figures of fun (or indeed alliteration) and yet react with such patience and quiet dignity.
They really are something special.
Which brings me on, of course it does, to BAKE OFF: THE PROFESSIONALS (C4, 8pm), because this week the teams are being asked to create a French choux pastry treat known as a "religieuse" - which, in its traditional form, is genuinely meant to look as nun-like as a cake can possibly look.
