Nottingham families still seek answer two years on

THE mother of one of Nottingham triple killer Valdo Calocane’s victims has accused authorities of a series of “cover-ups” and “mistruths” over his healthcare.

Emma Webber, whose student son Barnaby, 19, was killed by paranoid schizophrenic Calocane, spoke before families staged a memorial walk yesterday, two years after the horrific event.

Calocane, now 33, had been admitted to hospital and sectioned under the Mental Health Act four times from 2020 to 2022 over his violence and refusal to take his medication.

A report into his care in February said he was not forced to have long-lasting anti-psychotic medication because he disliked needles.

It also said other patients at Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust went on to commit “extremely serious” acts of violence.
