Jesus reveals he is never fully fit

- John Cross

NO PAIN MEANS NO GAIN FOR GAB

GABRIEL JESUS wants to forget his own pain by helping Arsenal to an "amazing achievement".

Jesus, 27, made a shock admission on the eve of Arsenal's Champions League quarter-final first leg with Bayern Munich that he cannot remember the last time he played without pain.

The Brazil striker has been plagued by a knee problem since the World Cup in 2022. He had surgery, endured a setback and has suffered several flare-ups of swelling in recent games. But Jesus played in last month's 0-0 draw at Premier League title rivals Manchester City and has a good track record in the Champions League.

For him, it is all about being fit and raring to go in the big games that matter and he is coming back to form at just the right time.

Jesus has never won the Champions League but he has it in his sights now.

He said: "I don't remember the last day I played football without pain, so I cannot complain.
