Netanyahu says Israel 'won't buckle' amid walkout at UN
Daily Express
|September 27, 2025
BENJAMIN Netanyahu insisted yesterday that Israel “must finish the job” against Hamas in the face of growing international isolation over his devastating war in Gaza.
The Israeli PM lashed out in a defiant speech to the United Nations, despite dozens of delegates walking out of the General Assembly hall in New York.
Tt came as Donald Trump said he believed the US had achieved a deal to ease the Gaza fighting.
But Mr Netanyahu said: “Western leaders may have buckled under the pressure. I guarantee you one thing: Israel won't.”
Hitting back at countries, including the UK, which have recognised Palestinian statehood, he said: “Your disgraceful decision will encourage terrorism against Jews and against innocent people everywhere.”
Pressure
Mr Netanyahu was mocked by hecklers as he spoke. The seats of the few powers still present, such as the US and UK, were filled by junior diplomats.
