THE MOST surprising addition to the schedules tonight is WHAT'S THE BIG DEAL: BRITAIN'S BEST BUYS? (8pm), Channel 4's new consumer thing.

The surprising part isn't the consumer element. We already have oodles of consumer shows. No, it's the fact that this one is hosted by Sonia from EastEnders. Or Natalie Cassidy, as I'm guessing she'd rather we called her, not least because that's her real name.
I'm not saying someone from EastEnders shouldn't host a consumer show. I'm just saying it's somewhat unexpected, albeit in this case maybe less so than finding Phil Mitchell hosting The Great British Sewing Bee.
