Nation of shopkeepers
Daily Express
|March 01, 2024
WHEN it comes to setting up your own business, most of us dream of hitting the high street.
Running a cafe, managing a bookshop or getting creative in an arts and crafts store have been voted the top three ways to make a living.
Toy shops, delis and groceries, vintage clothing boutiques, homewares stores and plant nurseries also scored highly in a poll to find the businesses most adults want to open.
Which just goes to prove Napoleon was right when he described Britain as a "nation of shopkeepers".
