Former golf champion loses 7-year land row with luxury lodge tenants
A FORMER golf champion has been told by a judge she was “manipulative” and “bullying” during a bitter seven-year dispute with her tenants.
Vivien Saunders OBE, who won the Women’s British Open in 1977, could now face a legal bill of almost £2million, it was said.
Saunders, 78, has been locked in a lengthy row with those living in luxury lodges on her land in Abbotsley, near St Neots, Cambs.
She is the freeholder of the gated development, which is home to a mix of houses and holiday lodges.
Saunders had accused tenants of trespassing on land and tapping into her water, but her claims were thrown out by High Court Judge Karen Walden-Smith.
