Madeleine cops launch fresh search in resort

FRESH police searches are due to start today near the spot where Madeleine McCann was last seen.
Investigators will examine land near to a ramshackle rented cottage on the outskirts of Praia da Luz where German prime suspect Christian Brueckner used to live.
The request is understood to have come from cops in his home country.
Sources said the new search in Portugal would extend from Brueckner's house eastwards.
One said: “The search will take place on 21 privately owned pieces of land which in some cases are open and not fenced off. Wells, ruins and water storage tanks will be searched.
