RACISM, civil unrest and romance brings the new series of Call The Midwife into a new decade.
Series creator Heidi Thomas has transported the nuns and nurses of Nonnatus House into 1970, along with the era's trials and tribulations.
The 14th Midwife season sees an "aggressive campaign of abuse" against West Indian nurse Joyce Highland (Renee Bailey) and the developing mixed-race romance between Rosalind Clifford (Natalie Quarry) and still-married pastor Cyril Robinson (Zephryn Taitte).
Meanwhile there is insurrection on Poplar's streets over workers' rights.
