Letby's appeal bid thrown out

SERIAL child killer Lucy Letby's bid to challenge her latest conviction for the attempted murder of a baby girl has been dismissed by the Court of Appeal.
Her lawyers asked senior judges if she could challenge July's verdict after being found guilty of attempting to kill a newborn known as Child K following a retrial.
But after yesterday's hearing in London, three judges dismissed the former nurse's bid.
Letby, 34, was found guilty in August 2023 of murdering seven babies and the attempted murder of six others at the Countess of Chester Hospital between June 2015 and June 2016.
Her lawyers argued her retrial was unfair because the jury was prejudiced by media coverage of the original trial.
