KIRSTY Young says a medical professional "snorted" when she suggested an explanation for a chronic pain condition she suffers from.
The pain led the former Desert Island Discs host to leave her Radio 4 show as she was treated for fibromyalgia and rheumatoid arthritis.
Fibromyalgia is a condition that causes widespread pain and extreme tiredness, according to the NHS.
She said: "I have, at my worst, felt as though someone has drugged my cup of tea.
