KING STARTS TREATMENT FOR CANCER

KING Charles has a "form of cancer" and has begun regular treatment, Buckingham Palace revealed.

Charles returned to London from Sandringham yesterday to begin a schedule of regular treatment as an outpatient.

Prince Harry will arrive in the UK to see his father in the coming days, a source close to the Duke of Sussex said. The King's cancer was discovered during his recent hospital procedure for an enlarged prostate. No further details were given about the diagnosis, but Palace officials confirmed that it is not prostate cancer.

The 75-year-old monarch personally spoke to sons William and Harry and told his brothers and sister about his diagnosis.

He will continue to undertake state business and go through official paperwork behind the scenes during his treatment.

Charles's health issue may bring him a step closer to resolving some of his family's troubles, with estranged Harry set to fly from the US to see him.

Buckingham Palace said in a statement: "During the King's recent hospital procedure for benign prostate enlargement, a separate issue of concern was noted. Subsequent diagnostic tests have identified a form of cancer.

"His Majesty has today commenced a schedule of regular treatments, during which time he has been advised by doctors to postpone public-facing duties.
