JK Rowling blasts 'ignorant' Emma for 'pouring petrol on flames' of trans attacks

JK ROWLING has rebuked “ignorant” Emma Watson after the Harry Potter star tried to offer an olive branch following their bust-up.

Ms Watson — Hermione Granger in the film franchise — said last week she still “loves and treasures” the author despite publicly berating her views on the trans movement.

But Ms Rowling left her 14 million online followers in no doubt she has not forgiven “former friend” Ms Watson, 35, nor her costars Daniel Radcliffe and Rupert Grint.

In a response of nearly 700 words, she wrote they “have every right to embrace gender identity ideology”, adding: “Such beliefs are legally protected, and I wouldn't want to see any of them threatened with loss of work or violence or death because of them. However, Emma and Dan in particular have both made it clear over the last few years that they think our former professional association gives them a particular right — nay, obligation — to critique me and my views in public.
