It's full steam ahead for VE Day commemorations

PLANS for VE Day tributes are entering the final furlong - so stars of the anniversary events were treated to some new shoes.

Mounts from The King's Troop, Royal Horse Artillery, were also given a wash and brush-up, and kitted out with sparkling livery.
They will take part in a four-day nationwide jamboree that climaxes on May 8 - the date on which the Second World War in Europe ended 80 years ago.
The unit is one of the senior regiments in the Army, famed for its immaculate riders and horses plus the First World War-era guns that are fired on state occasions.
