CRISPS devotee Allan Shaw dug up a 1967 pack of Golden Wonder in his garden - and could not have been happier if it was a actual gold.
The empty ready salted bag cost sixpence and included an offer for free tights.
Allan, 38, now plans to frame his treasure and display it on a wall.
He was digging holes for fence posts in East Calder, West Lothian, when he heard a crunch and pulled out something plastic on his spade.
