I had my twins at 57...and I can run rings around young mums

Lesley Woods, 64, with her twin girls Perrie and Cerys

Lesley Woods, now 64, says she does get mistaken for the grandmother of her youngest children, Perrie and Cerys, who were conceived after five years of IVF.

But she says she is fitter than ever and feels like she can "run rings around younger mums".

Bus driver Lesley, from Staines, Surrey, said: "I had this drive to have kids and went for it. I think it's very much an individual thing. A date is just a number in a passport. I haven't had any bad negative comments to be honest - I don't think I appear my age.

"I think generally what I've learnt about life is that if you have kids young, maybe you miss out?"

Lesley had a termination at the age of 22 after an unplanned pregnancy. She said: "I'm a better parent now than I would have been in my 20s.
