SOME parts of the UK were hotter than Ibiza yesterday as the longed-for summer sizzler hit 30C in this year's record high so far.

Chertsey in Surrey was the sultry trailblazer, seeing off the Balearic Isle's inferior 26C, and the mercury is set to soar even higher today.

Sunseekers headed to the beaches and parks to snatch some welcome rays while they could.

While for some 200,000 Glastonbury Festival-goers, the elements are set fair with a balmy high of 27C to look forward to with possibly just a spritz or two of refreshing rain.
