Author edited to avoid offence
AGATHA Christie is the latest top author whose work has been rewritten for modern sensitivities.
The crime writer, who died in 1976 aged 85, is the world's best-selling novelist with more than two billion books bought.
But classics, including the Miss Marple and Poirot series, have been changed by publisher HarperCollins to avoid offending readers.
Original passages have been deleted or edited.
