Growing numbers keep on working past 65 years
Daily Express
|October 30, 2023
THE number of over-65s in work has risen massively in recent years, as staying in a job beyond state pension age is becoming increasingly common, research shows.
More than one in nine of that age group are toiling past their 65th birthday, compared with one in 20 in 2000, according to figures from the Centre for Ageing Better.
They are mainly self-employed and doing it part-time, but there is a growing number continuing in fulltime employment up to and beyond the state pension age.
