Brave Daryz fights off Minnie in Arc thriller

DARYZ downed Minnie Hauk in the shadow of Longchamp’s winning post for a Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe success that triggered raw emotion and delivered new highs.

The winner carried the cherished green and red silks of the Aga Khan, a true giant of the turf and four-time Arc winner who passed away in February at the age of 88.

And he provided a first victory in Europe’s middle-distance championship for Francis Graffard, right, the trainer who has in just over a decade established himself as French racing’s dominant force, and jockey Mickaél Barzalona.
