AT least two people have died in the Los Angeles wildfires, officials said last night as firefighters continued to battle huge blazes spreading across California.

LA County fire chief Anthony Marrone said the victims were killed in the Eaton fire, which is sweeping though he celebrity-packed Pacific Palisades neighbourhood.

It is the largest of four blazes wreaking havoc across Los Angeles County. Others are burning in the cities of Pasedena, Malibu and Calabasas.

imageThey have already forced more than 100,000 people to flee their homes.

Prince Harry and Meghan are also facing evacuation from their home in Montecito as the wildfires continue to spread across the state, blown by winds up to 100mph.

The couple live in a palatial mansion in the celebrity enclave two hours from LA. But it is in a high fire risk zone and power companies have suggested shutdowns are possible.

It means the Duke and Duchess of Sussex may have to move to safety with children Prince Archie, five, and two-year-old Princess Lilibet.

The deadly blaze in the Palisades is devouring land at the rate of five football fields a minute and experts predict it could be the costliest wildfire in history.
