Ford backs next generation to launch a bold new era
Daily Express
|July 21, 2025
GEORGE FORD flew home from an unbeaten tour of the Americas insisting England had made more progress than on their previous visit — which served as a springboard to a World Cup final.
Victories against Argentina, twice, and the United States stretched their winning streak to seven games.
Achieving it while handing nine players their first caps convinced the captain that England have taken a big step forward.
Ford said: “These boys have put their hand up, they’ve taken their opportunities.
With the lads who are on the Lions doing the same thing, come the autumn we should be in a real good place.”
