A TREASURE trove of collectables from a hero Royal Navy captain gunned down on the deck of his ship at the Battle of Trafalgar is set to fetch thousands at auction.
They include Captain John Cooke's Royal Standard flag, a letter to his eight-year-old daughter and a bullet-riddled handkerchief found in his pocket at his death aged 43.
Capt Cooke was the commander of the Bellerophon and, along with Lord Admiral Nelson, was killed at the Battle of Trafalgar.
