Ex-Python in goon show

SOWHERE were we? Oh, yes, our dear friend Michael Palin — the man who checks out scary parts of the world so the rest of us know to steer clear if we have any sense — was swanning around Venezuela, in a new show on 5 called, funnily enough, MICHAEL PALIN IN VENEZUELA.

And tonight at 9pm, I’m pleased to report, he’s doing more of that. I say “swanning around”, but of course it’s not that sort of country. Swanning around may not be officially banned in Venezuela, but it’s not exactly encouraged. Especially not if you have a film crew in tow, as Michael is about to learn.
