Evil husband convicted of killing wife after retrial

AN “evil” carpenter has been convicted of murdering his estranged wife following a retrial under double jeopardy laws, eight years after being acquitted.
Robert Rhodes, 52, slit Dawn Rhodes’ throat with a knife at their home in June 2016. The following year he was found not guilty when Old Bailey jurors believed he acted in self-defence.
The retrial came after new evidence from Rhodes’ child disclosed during therapy revealed how they were coerced into helping with his plan to kill his wife and injure himself to make it look like self-defence.
