Ell of a job to do

ELLIOT MINCHELLA won't waste energy thinking about what it would be like to lead Hull KR to their first major trophy in 40 years.

- By Dave Craven

The talismanic captain insists all he is concentrating on is going out and doing it.

The time for rhetoric is over. Everyone knows the Robins’ wretched record, anyway. Ahead of today's Challenge Cup final against Warrington, Minchella admitted: “I'd be wasting a lot of energy and time worrying about what could happen if we achieve what we want to on Saturday.

“I've got a bit of experience now, captaining the club at the Grand Final last year, and it's learning how to park that.

“I'm obviously well aware of what it would mean. But I can’t control it. I've got to do my job on the field because if you worry about anything off it, you don’t do your job. That's what I stand for – and that’s what I believe in”
