DANGEROUS criminals may have been released without electronic tags amid efforts to ease prison overcrowding, critics fear.
The Conservatives accused the Government of a “shocking dereliction of duty” after a justice minister was unable to confirm every offender was being monitored.
Blasting the failure, shadow prisons minister Kieran Mullan said: “Labour's choice to let criminals out early was dangerous enough, but now we find out that at one point, they didn't know if the offenders released were tagged.
