Dress that 'broke the internet' man jailed for violent attack on wife

Keir Johnston, 39, pinned terrified Grace to the ground and tried to strangle her for 20 seconds during a row. He only stopped when a witness intervened, a court heard yesterday.

But then he struggled with his wife again, brandished a knife and shouted "Somebody is going to die" before the witness stepped in to stop the violence for a second time.

Volatile

The couple hit the headlines in 2015 when a picture of a dress worn by Mrs Johnston's mother at their wedding ignited a huge online debate over its colour. Some people said the dress was black and blue, while others argued it was white and gold.
