Fancy becoming a beekeeper? Me, I can see the plus points (you'd get close to nature, you'd get that magnificently stylish uniform, you'd get an endless supply of stuff to bung on your toast etc.), but I’m not sure I’d be cut out for it.
The responsibility alone would feel daunting. Even if I had just a couple of hives, that could still equate to tens of thousands of actual bees. How on earth would I remember all their names? No, I don’t think it’s the life for me.
But who knows, maybe THE SECRET LIFE OF BEES (5, 9pm) will change my mind. Starting tonight, this new series will be examining these fascinating creatures more thoroughly than any bee-themed documentary I’ve ever seen, not that I can actually think of any others.
