Lucy Worsley re-examines the disturbing case of a Victorian killer who scattered the body parts of his female victims along the Thames

Depths of evil

Nadifa, Kate and Rose assist Lucy with the investigation

Historian Lucy Worsley recruits a band of supersleuths to crack a murder mystery that's gone unsolved for over 100 years in this gripping three-part documentary series.

The Thames Torso Murderer was killing women in Victorian London at the same time as Jack The Ripper before dismembering the corpses of his female victims and scattering their body parts in and around London's River Thames.

Because the crimes were so brutal and were committed in 1880s London, many have suggested that the Thames Torso Killer and Jack The Ripper could be one and the same individual. But Lucy disagrees.

"The way they operated was so different," insists Lucy. "One really frenzied, that's Jack the Ripper, and then one very cold, that's the Thames Torso Killer. They're definitely different people."
